Youth are the fastest growing homeless population in Canada.
Homeless and at-risk youth face many health challenges and there are very few health promotion programs tailored to address their unique needs.
Rec on Wheels is a new branch and initiative from Hockey Helps the Homeless where their mission is to provide youth experiencing homelessness with free, tailored recreation opportunities that meet them where they’re at – physically, emotionally and mentally.
As a result of COVID-19, all in-person programming was halted in order to assess the situation and plan our next steps. As a result, we thought of Recreation Kits for those who need fun activities to do while staying at home.
"Rec on Wheels is a great way of providing youth daily activities and allowing them to still be creative during the COVID-19 pandemic. Writing materials, personal art supplies and games have enabled youth to work together and create new bonds."
I created the logo, proposals, and materials for Rec on Wheels.
